This paper consists of five questions. Read the questions carefully and choose any one.
Credit will be given to candidates who choose skilful dishes. Using the carbonised sheets
for all written work, proceed in the following order:

@ Write down your choice of dishes;

(ii) Make a time plan;

(iii) | Prepare a shopping list showing total quantities required.

(iv) Justification

Quantities should be for two people unless otherwise stated.

Write your name, centre number, centre name, candidate number and the number of the
test on your choice of dishes, time plan, shopping list and justification. Recipe books may
be used during the planning session. Only recipe cards may be used in the practical
examination but frequent reference to them during the examination should be avoided. At

the end of the planning session hand in all the papers, including the question paper to the
invigilator.

The question paper, time plan, choice of dishes and shopping list will be returned to you by
the examiner at the beginning of the practical examination.

Question 1

(a)

There is a cake sale at the local church and you have been asked to bring some snacks.
Design, prepare, cook and decorate one sweet and one savoury snack for sale.

(b) Launder the following articles
@ Two white pillowcases.
(ii) Baby Layette.
() Clean the following
@ A picture frame.
(ii) A set of two stainless steel saucepans.
(d) Design and prepare the centre piece for the table to be used in (a).
Question 2
a) Design, prepare, bake and decorate two different types of cakes. Serve the cakes with a hot
beverage for a board meeting.
(b) Launder the following:-
@ A tray cloth.
(ii) Corduroy jacket or trousers.
() Decorate a section of the room where the beverage and cakes would be served.
(d) —_- Using locally available materials create an attractive pathway leading to the boardroom.
Question 3
(a) Demonstrate the use of two kitchen gadgets by designing, preparing, cooking and serving
two skilful dishes. Make a fruit punch.
(b) Launder the following:-
@ Brushed nylon nightdress.
(ii) | Floppy school hat.
() Daily clean a bathroom.
